2021 is a monumental local election year, with the mayoralty and two thirds of the City Council up for grabs. The People’s Plan NYC offers the priorities of hundreds of organizers and advocates through a comprehensive, multi-issue roadmap around housing, anti-criminalization, education, economy, climate, transit, and health. The intent of The People’s Plan is to set the agenda for the city and provide a clear people-centered mandate to the incoming elected officials running the City in 2022 and beyond.

This session will go over how to build a multi-issues platform like the peoples plan, the process of evaluating and aligning on policy priorities, and how to use such a platform to build electoral power and influence an incoming administration. Attendees will leave this session having a clearer idea of how to plug into multi-issue electoral organizing in NYC, or how to build this kind of platform in your own city!
